9-10 May 2019, I spent in the national park of Iguazu waterfalls, the first day in Argentina side and then Brazil side.
Argentinian side:
There are 3 trails, to the Devil’s throat, the biggest waterfall, lower and upper trails.
The transportation is a train, you have to but a ticket for it or you can walk along the track. But ofcourse you would do the other trail instead walking here.
There is a boat trip to get a shower from the waterfalls... really wet
Brazilian side:
There is only one trail and it is more stunning view trail, as most of the waterfalls are on Argentina side.
If you have a Brazilian bus, it can go in to the park, otherwise they provide a bus too.
The boat trip is only to view closer from lower level, not to get wet.
There is a helicopter trip for 10 mnt you can book and bird park, Parc de Aves.
In Argentinian side, first I took the train till Devil’s throat trail. I saw many coatis (like a racoon) and the blush crested jace bird.
After a little break, I took the train back to Cataratas and I did the lower trail. Here I could see the whole water falls but it was quite cloudy, sometimes it is even raining. Hey, it was rainy season here.. and the closer you get to the waterfall, you’ll get wet anyway. For me, it was ok, I have seen many waterfalls in Iceland, Victoria falls in Zambia and Niagara falls in Canada, this is different.
After lower trail walk, I took the boat under waterfalls experience, totally wet till inside but it’s not freezing cold. And that ended my adventure from Argentinian side by going back to the city center of Puerto Iguazu, to the river joints where the border of three countries, Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Then I walked around the city center, Plaza san Martin then took a cab from there, as I had still some Argentinian money.
The second day, I would cross to Brazil side, so first immigration Argentina then immigration Brazil. Then I walked the only trail, this trail is basically the overview of the falls and it is amazing and many waterfalls all together and you think of where all the water come from.
I really enjoyed the walk on this trail, the view is really stunning, this is the real wonder of the world! I couldn’t stop taking picture but also thinking how blessed I am to be able to see this and how small I am. I saw many people around, many nationalities, different nations together here to see this wonder… what a beautiful thoughts… get wet together in some view point. At the wet view point, I felt the water drops on my face, it’s refreshing but also powerful. It came and went, depends on the wind. Since the sun also came and went, sometimes the magical rainbow appeared and gone again in a second when the clouds played hide and seek with the sun. A feeling that I could not easily describe in words…
Then I was dropped at the Bird center, Parc de Aves. I put my luggage at the locker then tried to get in a helicopter trip to see the waterfalls from different angle. And let the magical happened… I sat in the front of the helicopter, sometimes there is an advantage to travel alone. I was speechless, I enjoyed first the view then took some pictures with both Iphone and my Nikon camera. I was so pleased and peace till I forgot my rain coat over there, so I had to pick it up before I went to the airport.
Then now, to bird park… I am just crazy about animals, except snakes, as they have also Boa and I don’t really like them. But the birds… the flamingos, the parakeet, aras, spoonbill, butterflies, although I expected to see more butterflies but it was exciting for me anyway being around those beautiful animals. I had to force myself to get out from that park in order not to miss my flight to Rio de Janeiro.
