It was our first day in Bergen and we made it as a hiking day around the mountains of Bergen. As Bergen is known as the city of seven mountains so this is a must to do :-). We had a great local mountain guide (https://www.norwaymountainguides.com), Frank. I like to have a local guide for safety & comfort but also that I could learn more about the place.

Our day started by taking the Floibanen funicular and reach about 320 m level above the sea. On top of Floien, we had already a breathtaking view of the city but being out in the nature was another goal of today. From there, we did hiking to different tops around, passing some lakes, high trees, moss areas, found some berries, mushrooms, while trying to see Bergen in a more open space from its top and from different angle. The highest mountain in Bergen surrounding is Ulriken (643 m), it is the one with the telecommunication tower on top and cable car. At the moment, we’re there, the cable car was not available as they are constructing the new one. From Floien to Ulriken top is about 15 km hiking distance.

I love the feeling being in the nature with some physical activities and enjoying the nature itself. Looking around to see what the nature has offered us, being amazed of the view and breath… ;-)
