Well, today is Easter day, 21 April 2019, my last full day here in SPA, which is San Pedro de Atacama.
I took it easy today and I went to a yoga class at the main street Caracoles. It was a nice Hatha yoga class with Elizabeth and I believe I increased my Spanish vocabulaires tremendously. After yoga, I met Ximena, a new friend that I met a couple days ago for light lunch at the French bakery. We talked and she asked if I would like to have dinner and to go Barros bar for live music and maybe dancing tonight.
Then we walked around the main street, there was a procession for the Easter. So the main street was quite packed and really feeling at home as some people either from the hotel/ restaurant/ bar/ yoga class/ guides/ other tourists recognized me. I even could start a zumba/ jallabina/ body balance class here, to start earning money and live here...
In the afternoon I went to valle de la luna (moon valley), which is the valley with salt bubbles and gypsum, calcite mines. Salt crystals everywhere in between the reddish rocks. And the famous rocks are the three Mary. We also visited an old salt mine and an amphitheater which is actually a crater. Then for the sunset I went valle de la muerte (death valley). It is called like that as no plants or insects are managed to live here.
Just after sunset, I was back to Caracoles and hungry. For a couple of days, I am longing for pizza, so I got pizza vegetariana which I ate at the hotel with ginger ale. I finished it all, although after 2 slices I was full, but continue. Bad habit, Alfi! I talked to some friends via skype, then going out in SPA!
Ximena and I, we went to Barros bar to enjoy life music, the traditional one and the pop with guitar. it was a great way to end my visit here. Thanks to Ximena! I made new friends, had interesting conversations... priceless experience!
