During my last 1.5 days in this magical island (25-26 April 2019), I didn’t plan anything specific, just let go with the flow, with my feeling... I had a long night before, as I followed the town hall about reorganization at work from 1-2.30 AM...
From the hotel, I walked to the church, it was a different style of Catholic church then I walked along the main street to strolled around the different souvenir/ handycraft shops. As I could not join a snorkling trip today, I decided to walk along the shore toward Tahai and I reached a cliff where I decided to sit and eat my yoghurt. I had some tears at that moment, how lucky I am that I could sit and enjoy this view. Apart of this island/ cliff, I saw the big pacific ocean, I heard the waves broke into the rocks, sometimes loud and sometimes not. It felt di peaceful but also so small compared to the ocean. That time, I missed my home, my dog Baco, my fish and my life in the Netherlands...
I didn’t want to think about it, so I walked back to my hotel faster than usual, went swimming and took a nap. I wanted to see the traditional dance show that evening at Kari Kari.
The dance show started with a very intensed dance, all the dancers were sweating, although they didn’t have that much clothes on them. I was pulled also to the stage and tried to put my best polynesian moves which I had no idea before. Maybe it looked like shit but I had fun!
I was thinking what was the best way to say good bye to this island... then I came across an agency who offers sunrise transport to Tongariki (the 15 statues). It was the best decision and I’m ready to leave... bye Easter Island, thank you for the checked and till we meet again!

Nice keep us informed
