Last week, it was winter wonderland here in the Netherlands. I love it, although on the first snowing day, I broke the key to my house and with the help of my neighbours, I could get back into my house.

Indeed, winter time sometimes it's not easy. After living in Sweden for 5 years, I said there is no bad weather but only bad clothes. Anyway, this winter adventure last week reminds me to one of my business trip to Beulah, North Dakota, USA during winter time in February 2017. I had to stay about 3 weeks in Beulah to give a training to one of the biggest industry over there, DGC. I have prepared myself, including bringing a good winter jacket, as the temperature in Beulah during that period was -20oC and below. So I had my long parka winter jacket and its zipper wanted something different, it broke on the first day I was there. Luckily, the jacket had the button on top of the zipper and as I gave training so, I did not need to be outside that long. However, I would like to repair it, so I could go out to have a walk during my free time.

This was the beginning of my winter adventure in Beulah...

Beulah is the 16th largest city in North Dakota with about 3200 inhabitants, so let's say it was at that time a winter village. It turned out that Beulah was too small to be able to get my jacket fixed, almost everyone in the village came to my hotel to see my jacket and think if they could fix or might know somebody that could fix it. I could not get my jacket to fix but I had an unforgettable stay in Beulah, knowing almost everyone in the village.

In my free time, I visited Fort Mandan and Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I bet if I go back there in the summer time, I will not recognise the place anymore. :-)
