Being at 3400 m, Cuzco city

June 2nd, 2019 I left Lima for Cuzco... people believe that this is the city where the start of magical experience.

The journey to Cuzco is beautiful, passing Andes range and the airport is also special, surrounded by mountain. Well it is a city at elevation of 3400 m.

I went directly to the hotel, again nice hotel, Sonesta hotel right at the main street. I got coca tea & Lus, my contact person there gave me a briefing on what will happen in the next days… exciting but also busy. And I booked the colorful mountain hike, 95 USD.

The rest of the afternoon, I walked to Plaza de Armas, took some picture of the cathedral and also the ladies with traditional clothes with baby lama and alpaca. Bought bubble tea, coca chocolate then went to see the traditional dances in Qusco theater. The clothing are very colorful and the music has guitar and flute,very calming and cheering at the same time.

So far I didn’t feel the effect of the altitude, I took the pills that my doctor gave me, I drank enough water and tried to calm down myself not to do many things... so being at 3400 m was quite pleasant so far, I would say.
