A couple weeks ago, I had apportunity to visit Oxford in UK. Thanks to my car, Mini which they arranged a Mini Oxford Plant tour. I went there with a friend who lives in London. It was really nice to catch up and ofcourse this Mini plant is also a special plant, which is basically kind of robots island. I also took an extra day, just to discover Oxford, as this was my first time to visit Oxford.
I had a hotel in the city center, close to Highstreet and Queens’ lane. So, basically, I just need my legs & feet ready. It was a dry and sunny day in the autumn in Oxford which is not happen too often, I believe, but I took it & enjoyed it.
As I started early, I just followed my photo taking instinct, lost in the small alleys in between the colleges. I walked further till I found the sigh bridge (it is the brigde where the students should pass to go to their examination halls, always with a lot of sighing which gets the name from). Coincidently, it is also the same bridge decorated my hotel room. Passing under this bridge, I was surprised by the magnificent Sheldorian Theater. This is a special theater, as it is only used for student’s graduation. Around the corner from this theater is the famous Bodleian library, the original and the new one and Ratcliffe Camera library. Only Bodleian library can be visited the different rooms with a guide. I could only get the half an hour guided tour, but I found it quite impressive, so next time I’ll get to this library first to make sure to get the full hour tour. It is also the library that was filmed one of the Harry Potter’s movies. Apart from those libraries, there are many colleges that can be visited, for example Balliol colleague, Oxford castle & prison and some free museums, like Ashmolean museum, I would recommend and follow the 10 highlights. :-)
