Indeed Lombok means chili in Indonesian language, but why does it call that way? It is not because they are chili producer, I have seen only 1 chili (rawit) tree there. However, the local food are quite spicy, like chiken taliwang, water spinach pelecing, etc. To be honest, I always asked for non spicy and I ate with sweet soja sauce when I was there.
Lombok is part of West Nusa Tenggara province in Indonesia. The island is about 4740 km2 and the population is about 3.8 million. It has many white beaches and small islands around it.
Tanjung Ann is a nice white beach and the popular beach is Kuta beach, the same name as in Bali.
